Try out Tablet Weaving
Tablet weaving/Card weaving is an old weaving technique where you use tablets to create patterned bands. By twisting tablets during the weaving, different colors emerge and you can build up different patterns. Use your bands to decorate knitted sweaters, as belts, shoulder straps, etc.
Come and try it out during this introduction! No prior knowledge is required. Material kits for one meter of ribbon with tiles, yarn and patterns can be purchased on site.
13 april, Ulvens Lekland in Djäkneböle
Make your own dog toys
Dogs love destroying and we love creating, so why not combine the two? During this new course in collaboration with Ulvens Djurliv, we’re going to look at different types of (enrichment) toys that are easy to make as home.
As always, we try to work with second hand materials as much as possible, so feel free to bring your old blankets and jeans.

29 April, 6 and 13 May, Bilda Nord in Umeå
Tie baskets from pine needles
Tying objects with pine needles is an old tradition. The technique is reminiscent of Swedish root weaving. Although our Swedish pine trees do not have long enough needles, many people have cultivated pine trees in their gardens with needles that are excellent for this type of craft.
The possibilities with our pine needles may not be endless, but there is a lot to discover! During this course we will take a closer look at different stitches and ways to create more complex shapes.
No prior knowledge is required.
3 July, Sockenvägen 31, EFS-gården, Backen Umeå
Plant dyes
Using different materials and different dye plants, we’re going to take a deep dive into the possibilities of dyeing with natural materials. All materials will be collected in the Umeå area and this short course will hopefully inspire you to continue experimenting afterwards.
You don’t need any prior knowledge. Everybody will go home with a number of dyed samples and recipes.

20 July, Åstö days, Åstön
Dog Enrichment Stand
Together with Ulvens, we have gathered our resources and materials to enrich your and your dogs everyday life! Stop by our table to get information, buy dog toys or book a private session with a professional dog trainer.
Why not bring your dog and test out our enrichment course together?
24 July, Sockenvägen 31, EFS-gården, Backen Umeå

Dance to your limits
Everyone can dance, even if/when your body doesn’t cooperate! Maybe you’re tired after a long festival, maybe you have a chronic disability, maybe you just want to make dancing more fun and learn how to adapt to your partner!
There are as many solutions as there are challenges. Maybe you can only do half a dance, maybe you can’t do certain variations, maybe dancing with one finger is your limit.
How do you find your dance and how do you communicate that?
For healthy people and people whose body sometimes finds dancing difficult.
